One
Client: Mount Vernon Triangle CID
Status: Completed
One is a two-piece public art installation located in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood of Washington DC. They are designed to encourage conversation, build connections and deepen understanding on important topics that reflect current events with broad social impact.
Art can serve as a powerful and inclusive medium for enabling conversations covering a range of viewpoints—and in the process inspire action that leads to deep and lasting social change. This begins with thought-proving artwork that serves as a platform for discussing – and seeking common understanding – on matters as far ranging as the controversial to the sublime.
And therein lies the origin of One – as both an artwork and a gathering space for these conversations around Perspectives – to facilitate the types of hyper-local, community-based dialogues that educate, empower and engage neighbors to work for the better while considering the alternative point(s) of view.
